Aunt Pam's Apple Pie

|6||Cup||apples (thinly sliced)|
Preheat oven to 450F.
In small bowl combine sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt. Add apples, tossing lightly to combine. Turn into pastry shell and dot with butter. Top with upper crust and brush with beaten egg. Bake 45-50 minutes.
To bake a frozen apple pie - preheat oven to 350F. Place pie on a sheet pan and cook upwards of 1 hour. Check after 40 minutes and if edges are brown, cover with foil.
